Health and Human Services

As nearly three-quarters of Asians living in New York City are immigrants and almost half of all Asian New Yorkers are limited in English proficiency, the Federation supports culturally appropriate health and human services for Asian Americans. Through our network of member agencies, we provide such services as shelter for domestic violence victims, job skills training, English language classes and warm meals for the homebound elderly.

The Asian American Federation brings awareness to emerging community needs and advocates for funding of community programs by government and philanthropic initiatives. We also facilitate collaboration among community service organizations.

We focus on multiple issues such as aging, children & families and domestic violence.
