  1.  Voter Registration: The deadline to register to vote in the June 27 election is June 17. You can register to vote using our TurboVote page, here. This allows you to register online or by mail. If you choose to register by mail, TurboVote will mail you your registration form complete with postage which you can then mail to your local Board of Elections office.
    1. It can be mailed or dropped off at your local Board of Elections office.
  2. Absentee Voting (Vote by Mail): The deadline to request an absentee ballot for the June 27 election is June 12, however, we recommend that you request your absentee ballot as early as possible. To request an absentee ballot, you can use our TurboVote page, here. This way, return postage will be included when you receive your ballot. Note: due to recent changes, you should only request an absentee ballot if you are sure that you will vote by mail.
  3. Closed Primaries: New York’s primary elections are closed – this means you can only vote in these elections if you register with a political party. Political parties are listed on the registration form itself and the deadline to update your party affiliation has passed (February 14). To check your party affiliation, click here. To update your affiliation for later elections, you must submit an updated voter registration form.
  4. Ranked Choice Voting: This year’s primary election will use Ranked Choice Voting. It allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference: first, second, third, and so forth. Please watch our video on Ranked Choice Voting here (English) for a more detailed overview of the process.
  5. Board of Elections: You can find the location and contact information for your local Board of Elections office here. You can submit your printed voter registration form to your local office either in person or by mail.
  6. Polling Place: Click here to find your polling location for both early voting and Election Day.
  7. Registration Status: Click here to confirm your voter registration status.
