To request an absentee ballot, you can use our TurboVote page, here. This way, return postage will be included when you receive your ballot. Note: due to recent changes, you should only request an absentee ballot if you are sure that you will vote by mail.
- Closed Primaries: New York’s primary elections are closed – this means you can only vote in these elections if you register with a political party. Political parties are listed on the registration form itself and the deadline to update your party affiliation has passed (February 14). To check your party affiliation, click here. To update your affiliation for later elections, you must submit an updated voter registration form.
- Ranked Choice Voting: This year’s primary election will use Ranked Choice Voting. It allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference: first, second, third, and so forth. Please watch our video on Ranked Choice Voting here (English) for a more detailed overview of the process.
